Ray grew up on a farm near Fordyce, Ne.  He graduated from Crofton High School and attended Wayne State College where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Finance.   Ray started his crop insurance career in 2004 working with AmAg in Kearney before accepting a promotional move to Council Bluffs, IA as a State Claims Representative.  Another move took him to Lexington KY where he served as a Claims Supervisor before deciding to move back to the Fordyce area and join his dad as an agent for SKCI.  In 2017 he purchased the family business from Steve and Bette and in 2019 moved the office to its new location on Hwy 81.  His greatest joys are his children: Felicia and husband Sawyer, Steve and Megan.

Steve grew up on the farm in Fordyce, Ne.  His dad sold crop hail insurance starting in 1960.  Steve served in Vietnam then returned home to farm.  He helped his mother with the insurance business after his father's death in 1971.  He was recruited by Mel Janicek to be a crop adjuster in 1985 and got his agent's license 1986.  In the 90's Steve and wife Bette incorporated to become SKCI Inc.  Now that the business has been passed to his son Ray, Steve is enjoying semi-retirement with his wife Bette.  Time with their children  Ray, Judd, Sarah and Jenny and their families.  Of course there is always time for golf.

Julie grew up in Southern California.  She and Husband Chuck farm in Hartington, Ne.  Julie transitioned from life as an Emergency Department nurse, author, and public speaker to office manager and web master.  She assists customers with the new farm programs, farm grants and keeping everything organized.  She is active in the community serving on various boards.  She and husband Chuck enjoy visiting their three children Tony (wife Hannah and dogs Nash+ Norman), Tyler and Monta.

Jarrett grew up on a farm between Crofton and Bloomfield, Ne.  He worked at Alumax/Alcoa/Sapa from 1992  until 2016.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science decree in Computer Science in May 2002.  He joined the SKCI family part time in January of 2013 and changed to full time October of 2016.  Jarrett lives in Yankton with his wife Staci.  They have one daughter Stormi who lives in Portland, Oregon.

Everett Arens joined the team on November 6, 2023.  We can't believe our luck!  Everett is a local Cedar Catholic High School Graduate and lives over in Hartington. Everett is licensed in Crop Insurance and specializing in Livestock Risk Protection.  He is ready to help with all your crop and livestock needs!

Rod grew up on a farm in Cedar County and currently lives on a farm East of Crofton.  His has been married for 46+ years, has four children and five grandchildren.  Rod has an extensive background in agriculture as well as in the insurance business, including property, casualty, life, investments and crop insurance.   He started in the Crofton area in 1997.  He spent ten years in Colorado as an agent.  In 2013 he returned home to his farm East of Crofton.

KATIE 
LAMMERS

Katie comes to us from Seward, NE where she grew up on her family farm. She married a local farm boy, Nick, and they help out on his family farm. They have 2 great kiddos, Nash and Kena. And live in Hartington where Katie is active in the community volunteering on the Ambulance squad. Katie has been licensed in P & C for many years and has added a crop insurance  line to her insurance specialties.
